Have you ever wondered why so many people in town on a Saturday morning are walking around with their phones right up in front of their faces? Contrary to popular opinion, they are shopping. If you're a retailer and you think you're losing business to on-line shopping, then you pobably are, because on-line is where people are looking for YOU.
If you follow the advice below, you will be found. You don't even need a website and it doesn't cost a penny.
So much of search is now oriented to location, whether searching from a desktop, tablet or phone. All you need to do is make sure that you are in the Google 'register' by claiming or creating your Google Page and filling in the details. The chances are, that there are very few competitors doing what you do in your area. So instead of fighting through the thousands of competitors nation-wide, you only compete with the few on your doorstep.
It is so obvious, I don't understand why everyone hasn't already done this. Especially since it's free. Even the gmail account that you use to manage the page is free. In fact, if you do not already have a free gmail account, you are already losing benefits from all the free Google apps that come with it.
This works for all businesses, not just retailers.
Once you've got your free page or if you are already using your page but want to go a step further to increase your search presence, you couldn't do better than get your business plugged into the Google Street View network. As a Google Trusted Photographer, this is a service that I am certified to provide.
By photographing full 360º, panoramic spheres, at points through your business entrance and further inside, I can then build a virtual tour and publish it to Google Street View. I charge a one off fee as advised by Google. Your search results will then show extra thumbnail opportunities to 'see inside' and Google have statistics that show that this doubles the 'click through' rate.
Google report that from a survey in the US, the click through rate was doubled where business entries had a Google Virtual Tour, from 24% to 48%
If you do have a website, the tour can also be embedded there free of charge and provide opportunities for sorts of additonal customer engagement. Please ask for details.
With or without a website, a published tour affords remarkable opportunities for free self promotion through social media platforms. Full instruction and tuition provided by myself after publishing.
